RZA will be the FIRST recipient primarily known for Hip Hop, joining the ranks of music legends like Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Stevie Wonder, and Herbie Hancock.
It's wild to think that it took this long for a Hip Hop artist to be recognized with a music technology award. After all, the early days of Hip Hop were all about remixing, reworking, and pushing the boundaries of what was possible with music tech. So, while it's great to see RZA getting this well-deserved honor, it's also a reminder that Hip Hop's impact has often been overlooked in these spaces. 🤔
